2017 Primary

Make a plan to vote Tuesday, June 13th!

Tuesday, June 13th is primary election day to nominate the Democratic and Republican candidates for Governor and Lieutenant Governor. There will also be primaries in a number of House of Delegates districts. You may also vote in-person absentee until Saturday, June 10th; more information can be found below.

I am proud to support Ralph Northam for Governor, Justin Fairfax for Lieutenant Governor, and Kathy Tran in the 42nd House District! Find out why I support Ralph.

But, don’t just take it from me:
NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia endorses Ralph as an “outspoken, affirmative champion for expanding access to the services women need”
The Washington Post says “Northam would make the better governor.”

Find Your Polling Place

On Election Day, all polling places are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. As long as you are in line by 7:00 p.m. , you will be allowed to vote. For your vote to count, you need to be at the correct polling place.

Bring Your Photo ID

Virginia law now requires voters to show acceptable Photo ID to vote in person. Your acceptable Photo ID is the only thing you are required to show to vote in person. For a list of acceptable photo-IDs and information about obtaining a free photo ID through your local voter registration office (even on election day!), visit

Forgot your photo ID? You can cast a “provisional ballot.” You will be given instructions on what to do so your vote can count.

In-Person Absentee

Will work or personal business take you outside of your home city or county on primary day? Taking care of an ill family member? You’re likely eligible for in-person absentee voting. Skip the lines and vote on your own time. For a list of acceptable reasons, click here. Absentee in-person voting locations are listed below:
